Hello World!

Hi, I’m John, this is the first time I’m writing a blog. Let me introduce myself:

Why do I choose to be anonymous ?

I want my opinions to be judged on their own merit, not on who I am. Of course, zero anonymity is not possible on the internet, and I’m using the clearnet here, but there’s no reason to find who I really am.

Why am I doing this?

I want to share my opinions and thoughts with people who might be interested in them. I also want to improve my writing skills, and I think this is a good way to do it. As I am not a native English speaker, I will probably make some mistakes, but I will try to correct them.

What will I be posting about?

I will be posting about things I find interesting, about tech and programming, sometimes about technical stuff in games or software.

Why are you using such a generic Jekyll theme?

I’m not a web designer, and I don’t want to spend too much time on the design of this blog. I just want to write and share my thoughts, not spend hours on a design. Also, I like the simplicity of this theme and I don’t really think I need my blog to be fancy for it to be noticed. Of course, design is important and it is what people think of first when they visit a website, but I think that the content is more important than the design.

How often will you post?

I don’t really know if I will post often, however when something interesting makes me want to write about it, I will do it. I don’t want to force myself to write something every week or every month, because that will make the content less interesting.

How long will your posts be?

Not very long, I don’t want to write a book. I will try to keep my posts short and concise, but I will try to explain my thoughts as clearly as possible.

What is your opinion on [X]?

If you want to know my opinion on something, you can ask me by email. Keep in mind that any mail sent to this address can be made public (except for legal requests or stuff like that), with the sender’s name removed, so I can answer it in a post.

Do you write good code?

Maybe, it is up to you to judge when I feel like writing some snippets to explain something in my posts.

Tor hidden service?

There’s no hidden service yet as I don’t have dedicated hardware to host my own onion service. My site is only static content therefore the “Safest” security level on Tor Browser is enough to access my site. No Javascript (apart from my Jekyll theme), no ads, no trackers.

The website is hosted on Netlify Edge.
